Heather Sielaff

Heather Noelle Sielaff has over a decade of experience as a licensed massage therapist. She began to study various forms of body work while searching for a natural solution to the chronic pain resulting from a childhood accident. As she began to see results from tai chi, massage and acupuncture, she knew she had to help others become more active in finding their way to being well. Since graduating from Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in 1998, Heather has studied various forms of massage and energy work. By taking very clinical techniques she learned in school and combining them with more subtle modalities like Cranio-sacral therapy and Reiki, she addresses both the physical and energetic needs of her clients.

Introduced to the Gyrotonic® Expansion System after moving to Portland in 2001, Heather loved the changes it made in her body awareness and ability to heal herself through movement. She also believes it is the natural progression her clients must make in order to take control of their health and become more connected with their bodies. She has studied with Master Trainer Emma Kingston as well as San Francisco Master Trainers Tamara Yoneda and Debra Rose. Heather obtained her Gyrotonic® certification from Juliu Horvath in 2004. She is currently certified to teach Gyrotonic® and the Jumping-Stretching Board specialized equipment. She has also completed her Gyrokinesis® training.

Heather currently offers nutrition advice to both massage and Gyrotonic® clients and feels it is an important component in evaluating her client's physical challenges. She completed the Certified Nutritional Therapy program in 2005.

"...passionate teaching, like all teaching, is necessarily a social process, not just an individual performance. It is grounded in the relationship between teacher and student. It aims at a goal outside itself-engaged, intense learning that changes the course of lives and helps them realize their potential"
